After introducing the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro, Huawei has launched the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+.
Positioned as the flagship within the family, the Mate 60 Pro+ builds upon the features of the regular Pro model, offering consumers an even more powerful smartphone experience.
The Mate 60 Pro+ boasts a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display, similar to the Pro variant, but with a slight enhancement in visual quality, offering a resolution of 1,260 x 2,720 pixels. This display is a 10-bit panel with an impressive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and a rapid 300Hz touch sampling rate. Additionally, the device incorporates second-generation Kunlun glass for added durability and carries an IP68 rating, ensuring its resilience in depths of up to 6 meters (20 feet) for half an hour.
Internals and Software
While Huawei has not officially disclosed the chipset powering the Mate 60 series, it is strongly speculated that the device is equipped with the 7nm Kirin 9000S, produced in China, and featuring 5G support through Huawei’s in-house technology. This chipset is paired with a generous 16 GB of RAM, a notable improvement over the 12 GB in the Pro model. Storage options include 512 GB or 1 TB, with support for expandable storage through Huawei’s NM card format, which can accommodate up to 256 GB.
Cameras
The rear camera setup of the Mate 60 Pro+ is a highlight, featuring a primary 48MP sensor with an OIS-equipped lens that offers a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0. Complementing this is a periscope lens equipped with a 48MP sensor and 3.5x optical zoom, also with OIS. Notably, the ultra-wide camera has undergone a significant upgrade, now sporting a 40MP sensor, a substantial improvement over the 12MP sensor in the other Mate 60 models. The device maintains the three punch holes in its display, accommodating a 13MP selfie camera and two for the 3D ToF (Time of Flight) system.
Battery and Pricing
The Mate 60 Pro+ maintains a consistent 5,000 mAh battery capacity, supporting rapid charging at 88W via USB-C and 50W wirelessly, thanks to Huawei’s proprietary technology. Additionally, it offers 20W reverse wireless charging for replenishing other devices, with the USB-C port supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1 for fast data transfer.
While pricing details are yet to be revealed, considering that the Mate 60 Pro starts at $950, it is expected that the Mate 60 Pro+ will be priced slightly higher.
