A two-month-old baby was found dead in a rainwater drain in Murree after police detained the parents and launched an investigation into the tragic incident.

MURREE: A tragic incident has been reported in the Gohra village of Union Council Masiyari, Murree, where a mother has allegedly been accused of throwing her two-month-old baby into a rainwater drain.
Police registered a case following the incident and recovered the infant’s body from the drain. The child’s parents have also been taken into custody as investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to the District Police Officer Murree, the incident occurred in Gohra village. After receiving information about the incident, police launched a search operation and recovered the body of the two-month-old baby from the rainwater drain.
Police said a case has been registered and further investigation is underway. The parents were detained to determine the circumstances of the incident and establish what led to the baby being thrown into the drain.
According to preliminary information shared by police, the detained mother allegedly stated that she already had six children and was unable to bear the additional financial burden of raising another child. Police are examining this statement along with other evidence.
The incident has caused grief and concern in the area, while the death of the infant has also highlighted the economic and social difficulties faced by families struggling to meet children’s basic needs.
