Islamabad Traffic Police took action against over 72,000 traffic violators in August, targeting lane violations, wrong-way driving, illegal parking, helmet violations and tinted vehicles.

Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a major crackdown against traffic law violations, taking action against more than 72,000 citizens during August, according to its monthly performance report.
According to an Islamabad Police spokesperson, effective enforcement operations were conducted at various locations across the capital to prevent traffic violations and improve traffic flow.
The report revealed that action was taken against more than 13,000 motorists for lane violations and over 5,000 for wrong-way driving.
More than 10,000 citizens were penalized for illegal parking, while over 5,300 motorcyclists were proceeded against for riding without helmets.
The traffic police also impounded more than 7,000 vehicles and motorcycles and shifted them to different police stations.
Authorities further took action against vehicles with tinted windows and rickshaws entering Islamabad’s jurisdiction.
Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan said special measures had been implemented in the field to ensure strict compliance with traffic laws and maintain smooth traffic movement in the capital.
