Heavy rain continued in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, flooding low-lying areas. WASA declared a rain emergency, deployed heavy machinery, cancelled staff holidays and monitored Nullah Lai water levels closely.

Heavy rain continued in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for the second consecutive day, inundating low-lying areas. Shamsabad received the highest rainfall, with 115–116 mm recorded. Water levels in Nullah Lai reached 10.5 feet at Katarian and 8.5 feet at Gawalmandi.
Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir, WASA Rawalpindi has remained on high alert and declared a rain emergency. Field staff holidays have been cancelled, while heavy machinery and staff have been deployed in low-lying areas. The Managing Director WASA is personally supervising drainage operations in the field.
Heavy machinery has been deployed at Liaquat Bagh, Committee Chowk Underpass, Murree Road, Dhoke Khabba, Circular Road and Sadiqabad. Continuous monitoring of Nullah Lai and other drains is also underway.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded rainfall of 3 mm in Saidpur, 22 mm in Golra, 59 mm in Bokra, 47 mm at PMD, 115 mm in Shamsabad, 26 mm in Kacheri, 72 mm in Pirwadhai, 59 mm in Gawalmandi and 64 mm in New Katarian.
WASA has urged citizens not to throw garbage into drains and gutters and not to remove manhole covers to ensure uninterrupted drainage operations.
