Four members of a family were killed after a man allegedly opened fire at his in-laws’ home in Lahore’s Chuhng area before taking his own life.
According to police, the incident took place at around 5:45am in Barkat Colony, Chuhng. The suspect, identified as Imran Shaukat, allegedly arrived at his in-laws’ house carrying a rifle and opened fire.
Police said the victims were identified as Samia Bibi, the suspect’s wife; Ali Khan, his father-in-law; Zeeshan Khan, his brother-in-law; and Shamaila Bibi, his mother-in-law. All four died in the firing.
According to police, the suspect shot his wife in the head, his father-in-law in the chest and his brother-in-law in the back. His mother-in-law was also killed in the shooting.
Police said Imran Shaukat had married Samia Bibi six months ago. After the marriage, Samia had been living at her parents’ home.
Police further said the suspect wanted to take his wife with him and arrived at his in-laws’ residence early in the morning. After the attack, he shot himself in the head and died.
