Fawad Khan Pakistan Idol has become a trending topic after singer Humaira Arshad strongly criticized his inclusion as a judge on Pakistan Idol Season 2. The veteran playback singer expressed disappointment. And saying that artists with no deep connection to music should not be part of a judging panel.
During her recent appearance on Suno News, Humaira Arshad openly questioned why non-musicians like Fawad Khan are selected as judges for major music shows. She said that this trend has existed in Pakistan for years. And where celebrities without a proper music background are chosen over professional singers and composers.
According to Humaira Arshad, judges should be capable of identifying and evaluating musical talent. She added that those who lack musical training cannot fairly assess participants. In her view, if someone knows they are not musically trained, they should decline such offers out of respect for the art.
She further stated that the organizers should select experienced musicians who have dedicated their lives to music. However, she believes sponsors and producers often prefer popular celebrity names to attract viewership.
While Humaira Arshad voiced strong criticism, Fawad Khan Pakistan Idol continues to gain popularity among viewers. Alongside Fawad Khan, the show features renowned artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Bilal Maqsood, and Zeb Bangash. Fans are praising the show for highlighting young talent and for the balanced judgments made by the panel.
Fawad Khan, known for his success in both acting and music, started his career with the rock band Entity Paradigm (EP) before becoming a leading film star. Despite the controversy, his presence on Pakistan Idol Season 2 remains one of the show’s biggest attractions.
