Senior journalist Matiullah Jan and court reporter Shakir Awan have been abducted.
According to details, well-known journalist Matiullah Jan was allegedly abducted by unknown individuals from the parking lot of PIMS Hospital in Islamabad. Matiullah Jan’s son, along with several other journalists in Islamabad, reported his abduction.
Matiullah Jan’s son, Abdul Razzaq, stated that his father was abducted from the PIMS parking lot along with senior court reporter Saqib Bashir, by unknown individuals in an unidentified vehicle. However, Saqib Bashir was released shortly afterward, with the abductors telling him, ” Ye apka masla nahi, Matiullah Jan ka masla .”
He further said, “The unknown individuals in unmarked vehicles did not introduce themselves as police, rangers, or anyone else. I demand that my father be released immediately, and that his family be informed about his whereabouts.” Later, it was reported that Matiullah Jan was at the Margalla Police Station in Islamabad.
On the other hand, senior court reporter Shakir Mahmood Awan from Lahore was abducted last night by dozens of unknown individuals, including FIA personnel, from his home. They broke CCTV cameras, confiscated mobile phones, and seized other valuable items.
