Journalist shot dead in Ghotki

In a sad turn of events, in the Ravanti area of Ghotki, Bachal Gahneo, a reporter with a local TV channel was shot to death by some unidentified armed men.

The attack took place in the morning when Gahneo proceeded to check up on his fields, and the attackers had been waiting for him.

The cause of the murder is believed to be an old grudge, but the two had since made amends, although there had been a reconciliation between the parties involved, according to the deceased’s son, who spoke to a private TV channel.

Chief Minister of Sindh has condemned the killing of Gahneo terming it as a sad event and urged the police to arrest the perpetrators of the act immediately.

He has also instructed all of the local police forces to have a greater presence in the area, to supply some sense of security, and possibly to apprehend the individuals who are committing these crimes.
