    World Cup: Messi Makes History as Ronaldo, Portugal Advance

    Lionel Messi became the first player to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches as Argentina beat Jordan 3-1 to finish top of Group J with a perfect record. The defending champions will face Cape Verde in the round of 32 after the island nation reached the knockout stage for the first time.

    England topped Group L with a 2-0 win over Panama, courtesy of second-half goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, setting up a last-32 clash with DR Congo. The African side made history by defeating Uzbekistan 3-1 for their first-ever World Cup victory and knockout qualification.

    Colombia and Portugal played out an entertaining 0-0 draw, with Colombia finishing top of Group K after dominating much of the contest despite missed chances. Portugal advanced as runners-up and will face Croatia, who edged Ghana 2-1 to secure second place in Group L. Austria and Algeria also progressed after a dramatic 3-3 draw, eliminating Iran.
