Why Is Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War Look Bloodied?

Ranbir Kapoor’s bloodied first look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War is unveiled, revealing his intense character ahead of the film’s 2027 theatrical release.

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has sparked curiosity with his bloodied first look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, as the makers unveiled a new poster ahead of the film’s scheduled release in January 2027.

The poster, released by Bhansali Productions on September 24, features Kapoor sitting behind the steering wheel of a car, wearing sunglasses, a moustache and a casual T-shirt. His bloodied hand, resting outside the vehicle, has become the central detail of the first-look reveal, while his composed expression leaves questions about his character and the film’s storyline unanswered.

The production house shared the poster on social media with the caption, “Woh rutba, woh raub, woh junoon!” The makers also confirmed that the film will be released worldwide in cinemas on January 21, 2027. However, further details about Kapoor’s character and the circumstances behind his injuries have not yet been disclosed.

Love & War features Kapoor alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The film marks the first time the three actors have appeared together in a project directed by Bhansali. Although the story is set against a backdrop of war, the filmmakers have kept the plot and character details largely under wraps.

The project also reunites Kapoor with Bhansali nearly 20 years after the actor made his Bollywood debut with Saawariya in 2007. Bhatt is working with the director again after her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, while the film marks Kaushal’s first collaboration with Bhansali as a director.

The first-look poster has generated excitement among fans, who have been sharing their reactions to Kapoor’s new appearance across social media platforms. Bhatt and Kaushal also shared the poster through their respective social media accounts, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.

Scheduled for a theatrical release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, Love & War is among the major Bollywood films planned for 2027. With its prominent cast and Bhansali’s direction, the production has drawn attention even as key elements of its story remain undisclosed.

The newly revealed look offers a glimpse of Kapoor’s character but leaves audiences waiting for further promotional material and details about the film’s narrative.
