Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), honored the winners for the 42nd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair Awards and the 15th edition of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature.
The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) awards included categories like Best Emirati Novel, Best Emirati Academic Book, Best Emirati Creative Literature Book, Best Emirati First Novel Book Award, Best Arabic Novel, Best International Fiction Book, Best International Non-Fiction Book, and Sharjah Publisher Recognition Awards.
The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, along with prominent authors, intellectuals, and media figures.
Notable literary works were recognized in the 2023 awards, including ‘Happened in Sebeya’ by Dr. Suad Al-Araimi, which received the Best Emirati Novel award. Other categories included the Best Emirati Academic Book, Best Emirati Creative Literature Book, and Best Emirati First Novel Book Award.
In the category of Best Arabic Novel, ‘Bab Al-Wadi’ by Ahmed Tayyebawi received the prestigious SIBF Award. International awards were presented for the Best International Fiction Book and Best International Non-Fiction Book.

Furthermore, the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature honored outstanding works in categories such as Early Reader, Picture Book, Chapter Book, Young Adult Book, and Poetry.
Khoula Al Mujaini, General Coordinator of SIBF, emphasized the awards’ significance in inspiring authors and publishers to create impactful content that enriches the lives of readers. Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi also honored the winners of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature.
