WhatsApp has been testing a new video status length for selected beta users to improve user experience. The Meta-owned messaging app also raised the limit for video statuses from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
This extension is another attempt from WhatsApp to offer more control and richer content sharing to the users. The new one-minute video status function allows users to provide more information about themselves and their interests to their contacts in order to make their status updates more interesting.
It is currently open to a limited number of beta users who can try the new feature and offer feedback. This trial phase will assist WhatsApp to test the functionality before a broader implementation. The increase in the length of the video status allows WhatsApp to meet the growing need of users for more exciting methods of sharing their experiences.
People who have been enrolled in the beta testing program will see the change in video status duration when they upload their next status update. This comes shortly after WhatsApp made other improvements in the platform including multi-device support and privacy settings.
The introduction of longer video statuses will be especially beneficial to content creators and influencers who use WhatsApp to reach their audience. The longer duration is beneficial for creation of video content with more creativity and depth than other media for interpersonal and business communication.
