Pakistan is set to unlock its tourism potential with a bold plan to develop Visit Pakistan tourist destinations across the country. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to prepare an ambitious action plan for 20 new tourist spots, aiming to attract both local and international visitors. The initiative will focus on building high-quality hotels, resorts, modern recreational facilities, and better connectivity to showcase Pakistan’s unmatched natural beauty, history, and culture.
From the snow-covered peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan to the serene beaches along the Arabian Sea, Pakistan’s landscapes offer something for every traveller. Sharif stressed that all projects must be climate-resilient, ensuring sustainable tourism growth. The government is also preparing for a National Tourism Expo and Investment Conference in Islamabad to invite both domestic and global investors to be part of this tourism boom.
Tourism Coordinator Sardar Yasir Ilyas presented a comprehensive plan to boost the sector’s GDP contribution by promoting emerging destinations. The vision includes not only nature tourism but also religious and medical tourism, expanding Pakistan’s appeal worldwide.
