Jannat Mirza shared her thoughts on a private podcast, revealing that the decision to part ways with Umar Butt was not taken lightly. She admitted the breakup was tough but felt relieved it happened before marriage, which would have been even more painful.
She emphasized that they had contemplated the breakup for two years before concluding that the relationship was unsustainable. Moving forward, Jannat is determined to avoid mistakes, stating, “Now, if someone makes a mistake, I say, let’s get out!”

Even though it was tough to call it quits on the engagement before marriage, Mirza stressed that it saved them further heartache.
“I was not ready for a breakup, but I’m glad it happened now instead of after marriage,” Mirza clarified. After two years of consideration, we came to the conclusion that I couldn’t stay in a relationship like this. I no longer tolerate errors in my life, therefore it’s great if someone makes a mistake to go.”
Umar Butt’s response
Umar Butt posted an oblique response on Instagram after ex-fiancé’s remarks. “My parents have raised me well, so I don’t talk about anyone,” he said cryptically, leaving out Mirza’s name. “I am not fond of cheap attention, so may Allah bless you,” he said, implying that Mirza was after cheap fame.
