Young students from Al Nahwah School in Khorfakkan, Sharjah, showcased Emirati culture in traditional costumes, performing to local music on the second day of the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).
According to report, held at the Expo Centre Sharjah, this day also marked the beginning of school visits to the fair, which spans 12 days. The Grade 3 and 4 students practiced for a week to deliver a seamless performance that captivated the audience in the main hall. Dressed in maroon gowns and golden hair ornaments, they danced gracefully to Emirati folk tunes, embodying the region’s rich heritage.
SIBF 2024, themed ‘It Starts with a Book,’ offers a diverse lineup of 1,357 activities for both children and adults. Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, the fair will run through November 17 and features 600 workshops, including 465 sessions for all ages and 135 dedicated to early childhood. Topics cover a wide range, from heritage and creative writing to media, entrepreneurship, technology, the environment, arts, and life skills.
