    U.S. President Donald Trump told leaders of the Group of Seven during a virtual meeting that Iran is “about to surrender,” according to a report published by Axios citing officials briefed on the call.

    The report said Trump made the remarks during a virtual G7 conversation on Wednesday, where he discussed the impact of recent U.S. military actions against Iranian targets.

    According to officials from three G7 countries familiar with the call, Trump told allied leaders that he had “got rid of a cancer that was threatening us all,” referring to the results of a U.S. military campaign reportedly named Operation “Epic Fury.”

    Trump claims major blow to Iran
    During the call, Trump reportedly portrayed the strikes as a decisive move that significantly weakened Iran’s leadership and military capabilities.

    He also suggested that Tehran’s leadership was in disarray following the operation.

    “Nobody knows who the leader is, so there is no one who can announce surrender,” Trump said during the call, according to Axios.

    Regional tensions remain high
    The comments come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following escalating confrontations involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

    Analysts say the situation has raised concerns about the possibility of wider regional conflict as military exchanges and retaliatory actions continue across the region.

    So far, Iranian officials have not publicly responded to Trump’s claim that the country is close to surrender.

    Diplomatic sources say world leaders are closely monitoring the situation as the conflict continues to evolve.
