QILA ABDULLAH: Six people, including prominent tribal leader Dad Muhammad Kakar, were killed in a firing incident in the Mezi Adda Bazaar area of Qila Abdullah on Monday, officials said.
According to initial reports, unidentified assailants opened fire in the busy market area before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. The victims sustained critical injuries and were later pronounced dead.
The bodies were shifted to Mezi Trauma Center for legal formalities and further examination.
Following the incident, relatives of the victims and local residents staged a protest and blocked the Quetta–Chaman Highway, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible. The road blockade caused disruption to traffic in the area.
Police said an investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind the attack. Law enforcement agencies have also conducted raids at various locations in an effort to apprehend the suspects.
Authorities stated that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
