Tragic Accident in Murree Claims Lives of Seven Family Members
A tragic traffic accident occurred on Rakhala Road in Murree, where seven members of the same family lost their lives after a vehicle fell into a ravine and caught fire.
According to details, the vehicle plunged into a ravine on Rakhala Road, triggering a fire that burned seven people to death. A total of 14 family members, including children, elderly people and women, were travelling in the vehicle.
The remaining seven family members sustained burn injuries in the incident. The family was returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred.
It is worth recalling that in June 2026, 10 people were burned to death after a tourist van caught fire on the Murree Expressway near Kahjoat. Eight others were also injured in that incident.
Murree District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Raza had explained that the passenger van first went out of control due to overspeeding and struck a roadside safety barrier. The impact caused the vehicle’s fuel tank to burst, and leaking petrol caused the entire van to catch fire within seconds.
Authorities said that eight people who sustained burn injuries in the June accident were immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital in Islamabad.
