Sensational actress Nora Fatehi has joined Alia Bhatt, Naseeruddin Shah and dozens of Bollywood stars in solidarity with New Delhi students protesting NEET exam irregularities and paper leaks since June 20.

One of Bollywood’s most glamorous and globally recognized faces has stepped into India’s most emotionally charged student movement of 2026, adding significant star power to a protest that has been shaking New Delhi’s political establishment for over a month.
Nora Fatehi, the Moroccan-Canadian actress who has built a massive following across South Asia and the Arab world through her performances in Bollywood blockbusters, took to Instagram on Thursday to express her solidarity with students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against irregularities and alleged paper leaks in India’s National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, known as NEET.
Nora’s emotional message — straight from the heart
Fatehi’s Instagram post carried none of the cautious celebrity neutrality that often marks such statements. It was personal, direct, and deeply felt.
“My heart is with every student, every family, and every person carrying the weight of this uncertainty,” she wrote.
She went further, acknowledging the real human cost behind the examination scandal. “Education is not just about exams or marks — it is another name for sacrifice. Every student who studies late into the night and every family that endures financial hardship deserves to have their effort and sacrifice honored.”
On the paper leak allegations that triggered the protests, Fatehi was unequivocal. “Reports about the question paper leak have left countless people disappointed, exhausted and heartbroken.”
She reserved her most painful words for the families of students who took their own lives in the aftermath of the NEET controversy. “My special sympathies are with the families who have lost their children. The news of student suicides is extremely heartbreaking and devastating.”
She expressed hope that a genuine solution to the crisis would emerge.
What the protest is about
The protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi has been ongoing since June 20, organized by Kakroach Janta Party and its student supporters. The movement has three core demands that have so far gone unmet by the federal government.
First, the resignation of Federal Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over his ministry’s handling of NEET examination irregularities. Second, comprehensive reforms to India’s examination system to prevent future paper leaks and ensure fairness for millions of students who spend years preparing for these high-stakes medical and engineering entrance tests. Third, concrete legal action against those responsible for the alleged paper leaks.
The NEET examination determines admission to India’s medical colleges and is taken by millions of students annually. Allegations of paper leaks and irregularities in 2026 triggered one of India’s most sustained student protest movements in recent years, drawing comparisons to earlier waves of youth-led agitation over educational injustice.
Bollywood speaks — the list grows longer
Nora Fatehi joins a growing and increasingly prominent list of Bollywood and Indian entertainment industry figures who have publicly supported the student movement.
Alia Bhatt was among the first major Bollywood stars to break her silence, saying the events of recent days had broken her heart. Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, among India’s most respected veteran actors, lent their considerable moral authority to the cause. Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj added their voices. Rajkumar Rao, Revathy, Tovino Thomas, Anurag Kashyap, and singer Arijit Singh have also publicly expressed solidarity with the protesting students.
The breadth of voices from across Indian cinema’s political and generational spectrum signals that the NEET protest has touched something deeper than a single policy dispute. It has connected with a collective frustration about fairness, meritocracy, and whether India’s examination system genuinely gives every hardworking student an equal chance.
Why Nora Fatehi’s voice carries particular weight
Nora Fatehi is not simply a Bollywood star. She is one of the most followed South Asian entertainment personalities across the Arab world, North Africa, and the broader global diaspora. Her Instagram following spans millions across multiple continents, and her statement amplifies the student movement to audiences far beyond India’s borders.
Her solidarity also carries a personal dimension. As someone who built her career through relentless hard work and personal sacrifice in an industry that did not offer her easy entry, Fatehi’s acknowledgment that student effort and family sacrifice deserve to be honored lands with authentic credibility.
