Swat School Flood Rescue took place on Friday when Principal Saeed Ahmad acted quickly to save nearly 900 students. Rising water levels in a nearby stream threatened the school just after 9 a.m., prompting him to order an immediate evacuation.
Within 15 minutes, all students and teachers had safely left the building. Soon after, floodwaters destroyed half of the school, including its boundary walls and playground. Local officials confirmed that around 900 students were present, and the timely evacuation prevented a major tragedy.
Swat School Flood Rescue highlighted the principal’s quick thinking and years of experience. Ahmad, who has served as principal for 12 years, remembered the same school had been destroyed in floods in 1995. That memory helped him recognize the danger and prioritize student safety.
Severe floods have hit multiple districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past three days, claiming over 350 lives and destroying dozens of schools. Many families in Swat watched in shock as floodwaters swept through their neighborhoods, but the brave actions of Principal Ahmad ensured no children were harmed in this incident.
Authorities praised his courage and swift action, emphasizing that early evacuation can save countless lives during natural disasters. Swat School Flood Rescue is now being shared widely as an example of leadership and preparedness in crisis situations.
