Famous American rapper Snoop Dogg, recognised for his relaxed approach and popular songs, suggested receiving a significant payment of $9 million for his role in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 52-year-old artist, Calvin Broadus Jr., shared a video on Instagram on Friday that has sparked renewed interest in his earnings during the Games.
The video, detailing Snoop’s Olympic experience, reveals that the rapper made more than 40 million rubles per day, which equates to around $500,000 daily, for his performances at the Paris event.
The hype surrounding Snoop Dogg’s income started recently when a user on X (formerly Twitter) stated they had heard an NBC executive talking about the rapper’s high daily rate.
As stated in the post, Snoop was not just paid for being there but also had all his costs covered while staying in Paris.
The rapper’s participation in the Olympics started positively when he was given the privilege of carrying the Olympic torch through a suburb of Paris, which he found to be very meaningful. Snoop’s involvement at the Games went beyond just formal tasks, as he participated in a fun synchronized swimming performance with Olympic medalist Michael Phelps, who has won 28 medals.
During one of the Games’ standout moments, Snoop playfully commented, “Mike, you’re making this appear too effortless.” Both of them tried to coordinate their actions in the pool, with one stating “I’m in peak physical condition for winning a gold medal.”
Snoop Dogg’s time in Paris ended with a show at the Olympic closing event, where he performed with his frequent partner Dr. Dre.
The pair performed popular versions of songs such as “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “The Next Episode,” adding a hip-hop vibe to the international platform.
