Mandi Bahauddin: Body of 8-Year-Old Girl Found in Fields, Mother Killed Her to Remarry
On Eid day, the body of an 8-year-old girl, who had come as a guest, was recovered from fields near Muradwal, in the Tehsil Mandi Bahauddin’s Malikwal area. Shocking initial investigations revealed that the girl was allegedly murdered by her own mother to fulfill a condition set by her prospective husband for marriage.
According to police sources, the mother, now in custody, confessed that her suitor demanded she “get rid of” her daughter if she wanted to marry him. In a horrifying act, the woman killed her innocent child and left her body in a nearby field. The gruesome discovery has sparked widespread grief, outrage, and condemnation in the area.

Locals and social media users have expressed intense anger, demanding strict legal action against the mother. Police have arrested the accused, and further investigation is ongoing.
This tragedy is more than just the loss of a child—it represents a horrifying collapse of sacred bonds and moral values in society. “If only the mother had reached out for help or handed the child over to someone instead of resorting to this inhuman act,” one local said, mourning the state of a society where trust and compassion seem to be fading.
This incident also serves as a grim reminder to those who believe that violence and lust-driven crimes are committed only by men. Such toxic characters exist across all genders and in every corner of society—the tools and tactics may differ, but the poison remains the same.
