Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on directing ‘Star Wars’ Film: 1st woman who took the reigns of Star Wars universe. I’m very thrilled about the project

Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy expresses excitement about directing an upcoming Star Wars film, becoming the first woman to helm a project in the iconic franchise.

Obaid-Chinoy views it as a significant moment for gender representation in storytelling. The film, set in the Star Wars universe and centered around the character Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, will explore the establishment of a new Jedi Order after the events of Episode IX.
