Shama Junejo reaction defense ministry denial and PMLN leadership has come after strong statements from the ministries and party leaders. She said she had been working for Pakistan and for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for many months.
According to her, during the Pakistan-India war her policy briefs, advice, and points were all part of the official record. She added that the Prime Minister gave her the task of writing the United Nations speech. She was also made a part of the official delegation, with her name listed as an advisor and a security pass issued.
Shama Junejo explained that she worked day and night with the Prime Minister’s team. She traveled with them, stayed in the same hotel, and joined important meetings, including one with Bill Gates. She pointed out that TV footage and a climate conference showed her sitting behind the Prime Minister with Ishaq Dar. She said the finance ministry later tweeted that she was not part of the delegation, which she rejected.
She also recalled being taken by the protocol team to an AI conference, where she sat with Khawaja Asif and Bilal. She said Bilal was drafting a speech while they were together. After the speech, they had tea, waited for a car, took pictures, and returned to the hotel in the same vehicle.
On the last day, she joined the team at the UN during the Prime Minister’s speech. She said everyone clapped together. The speech, according to her, was a team effort.
