Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler, and his wife Ansha Afridi, are rejoicing over the birth of their first baby.
The pair chose Ali Yar as the name for their new baby boy. The Afridi family made a joyful announcement on social media, prompting congratulatory messages from fans and supporters around the globe.
The birth of their son is a significant occasion for the family involved in cricket. Shahid Khan Afridi, former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team and father-in-law of Shaheen, is celebrating the arrival of his first grandchild.
In July, there were reports that Shaheen and Ansha were expecting the arrival of their first baby. The red ball coach of Pakistan, Jason Gillispie, suggested that the fast bowler might miss the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh because his new child is expected to be born.
“Shaheen can take rest from Bangladesh Test matches because of giving birth.” Gillispie said they can provide him relaxation if he chooses to remain with his wife until that time.
Pakistan is presently engaged in a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, with the first Test commencing on August 21.
Shaheen, the left-arm fast bowler, got engaged in 2021 to Ansha Shahid, the second-oldest daughter of former national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi. Their beautiful daytime marriage ceremony occurred in a private setting on February 3 of the year before.
The wedding festivities and send-off ceremony occurred in September 2023. Several of Shaheen’s teammates from the national cricket team attended the event, which was held at the DHA Golf and Country Club.
