Saudi Arabia is bidding to host the 2034 Football World Cup. This was said by the president of the kingdom’s football association emphasizing the opportunity for the world to witness Saudi Arabia’s development, society, culture, and heritage.
Saudi Arabia‘s federation showed their interest after North African Muslim nation Morocco was confirmed as one of the hosts for the 2030 edition alongside Spain and Portugal.
FIFA invited bids from member federations in Asia and Oceania, and Australia is expected to submit a proposal. If successful, this would be the second time a Gulf country hosted the World Cup, following Qatar in 2022.
The Saudi football president highlighted the nation’s passion for football and its experience in hosting major international events. The host country for the 2034 World Cup is expected to be announced at a FIFA congress next year.

“I believe the whole world saw the great passion of all our fans in the last World Cup 2022. That passion, noise, energy, and color. I think young kids in Saudi today will be dreaming of this and, in fact, we want to help them achieve this dream in 2034.
“Also, since we will host the 2027 Asian Cup, we have already plans for a number of upgrades and some new world-class stadiums. We are working hard to deliver them in the most sustainable ways.
“If our successful past events are anything to go by, then fans will have an absolutely incredible experience in 2034.”
