Riyadh Air launches direct flights to Pakistan from August 14 — Saudi Arabia’s newest airline enters one of aviation’s most in-demand routes

Saudi Arabia’s new national airline Riyadh Air will launch daily flights to Islamabad from August 14 and three weekly flights to Lahore from August 18, adding to an already competitive Saudi-Pakistan air corridor.

Pakistan’s aviation market is about to welcome one of the most anticipated new entrants in its recent history. Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s brand new national airline, will launch direct flights to Pakistan this month — with daily services between Riyadh and Islamabad beginning August 14, 2026, and three weekly flights between Riyadh and Lahore starting August 18.

Reservations for both routes opened on July 30, and the airline will operate its Pakistan services using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner — one of the world’s most modern and passenger-friendly commercial aircraft.

The existing operators serving this corridor include Saudia (Saudi Arabian Airlines), Flynas, Flyadeal, Fly Jinnah, Pakistan International Airlines, Air Arabia, and others. Flights from Saudi Arabia currently reach 7 destinations across Pakistan from 5 Saudi airports.

Saudi low-cost carrier Flyadeal alone has been aggressively expanding its presence in Pakistan. Flyadeal now operates 18 weekly flights to Pakistan after launching four routes, including Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Sialkot; the addition of Lahore brings total Pakistan frequency to 18 flights per week.

Riyadh Air’s entry adds ten more weekly flights — seven to Islamabad and three to Lahore — to an already well-served but consistently high-demand corridor.
