In a significant turn of events, Ranveer Singh has officially taken on the lead role in the highly anticipated third installment of the blockbuster series, Don, marking a departure from Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of the iconic character.

The director of the action-packed thriller franchise, Farhan Akhtar, confirmed Shah Rukh Khan’s graceful exit from the franchise, leading to widespread speculation about who would step into the coveted role.

Ending the speculation, Akhtar unveiled a much-awaited teaser for Don 3, introducing Ranveer Singh as the new face of the Don after SRK’s memorable portrayal.

The character of Don was originally brought to life by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in the 1978 hit film of the same name, and Shah Rukh Khan reimagined the role in the 2006 and 2011 installments.

Ranveer Singh’s introduction as the new Don has garnered a diverse range of reactions. While some eagerly anticipate the film’s scheduled release in 2025, others have expressed their intent to boycott the movie, creating a divisive sentiment among fans.

Social media saw a surge of activity on Farhan Akhtar’s Instagram comments section following his revelation that Shah Rukh Khan would not be returning to the beloved franchise. One fan’s comment captured the sentiment: “Don 3 without SRK is not something we can embrace. We stand united in boycotting it.”
