An important meeting of the ICC will take place today Pakistan’s hosting of the scheduled ICC Champions Trophy 2025, in which a final decision will be made.
According to media sources, Pakistan will receive $6 million for hosting the ICC Champions Trophy. Additionally, Pakistan will have to pay an insurance company $1.2 to $1.3 million as a premium for the tournament’s insurance. Pakistan will also receive additional dollars from gate money and hospitality. Therefore, after deducting the insurance amount, Pakistan will receive around $6 million.

Sources also mention that the ICC provides Pakistan with two installments of $13 million each, one in January and the other in July, from its annual revenue. In contrast, India receives 38% of the ICC’s annual revenue, amounting to $90 to $95 million.
On the other hand, sources told that just hours before the decisive meeting about the Champions Trophy’s future, Pakistan Cricket Board( PCB ) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was in Dubai since Thursday. There, he held crucial discussions with ICC CEO Geoff Allardyce and senior officials, clearly presenting Pakistan’s firm stance.
PCB sources claim that Mohsin Naqvi conveyed Pakistan’s position at the Dubai meeting, informing the ICC that the government has prohibited the hybrid model, so India will have to come to Pakistan.
Naqvi emphasized that if the ICC wants to move forward, they should come up with a new proposal that is in the best interest of cricket and member countries, and that discussing the hybrid model with Pakistan would be a waste of time.
