The total amount of money sent through the Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) by overseas Pakistanis has exceeded $8. 416 billion also shows the ongoing and strong backing from overseas Pakistani.
This accomplishment has been achievable since the establishment of the RDA in September 2020, to further acknowledge the role of these accounts in boosting Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves.
According to information from the State Bank of Pakistan, in July 2024, a total of $161 million was sent by overseas Pakistanis through RDA, contributing to the total amount.
This follows a series of a strong influx of $224 million in June of the year 2024. The continuous flow of incoming remittances highlights the trust and participation of Pakistanis living abroad in the financial system of their home country.
In addition to the rise in remittance amounts, there has been a growth in the number of accounts under RDA, with 10,820 new accounts established in July 2024, bringing the total to 723,598 accounts.
This increase shows that overseas Pakistanis have confidence in the secure and efficient services provided through Roshan Digital Account initiative.
Yet, RDA has also brought about significant advancements in the investment arena. Foreign Pakistanis have put $357m into New Pakistan Certificates, $618m into New Pakistan Islamic Certificates, and around $39m into Roshan Equity Investments.
All of these investments play a vital role in driving economic growth and development in the country, providing a reliable and lucrative income source for the diaspora to contribute to Pakistan’s development.
