According to details, the physical remand of the four suspects involved in the Daska Zahra murder case has concluded. Sughran, the main accused, along with Yasmin, Abdullah, and the hired assassin Naveed, will be presented in court today.
The mother-in-law (Sughran) and sister-in-law (Yasmin) will be brought from jail, while Abdullah and Naveed will be brought from the Mutra police station. The prosecution will request the court to grant further physical remand for investigation.
Previously, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law were remanded for three days, while the hired assassin, Naveed, was remanded for one day.
Police broadened the scope of their investigation yesterday, detaining four more relatives of the suspects, including Sughran’s second daughter and her grandson. These additional suspects include Saba, Sughran’s second daughter, her grandson Qasim, Shabbir from Kotli Merlan, and Azan Ali from Wazirabad.
Police revealed that new charges were added to the FIR against the accused, including murder, abduction, evidence tampering, and conspiracy. The initial FIR was registered on November 11, based on a complaint filed by Zahra’s father.
Zahra’s two-and-a-half-year-old son has been handed over to his maternal grandparents. Meanwhile, Zahra’s husband has returned from Saudi Arabia. Police stated that he has not been interrogated yet but will be questioned if necessary. The investigation against the arrested suspects continues, and further evidence is being collected.
