In a major twist, police have declared actor Muneeb Butt innocent in the Karachi kidnapping-for-ransom and cryptocurrency theft case. A request has been filed to withdraw his bail.

Breaking Development
In a significant turn of events, Karachi’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) witnessed a major update today as actor *Muneeb Butt* was officially declared innocent by police in a sensational kidnapping-for-ransom and cryptocurrency theft case. His legal team promptly filed a request to withdraw the interim bail, signaling full closure of the chapter.
Case Background
The controversy erupted when police alleged that Muneeb Butt had facilitated suspects by providing them shelter in Murree. The main case involves the abduction of complainant Muhammad Mutaal on April 23 from Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi. The accused allegedly robbed him of cryptocurrency worth Rs 24.94 lakh along with other valuables before releasing him in Korangi Industrial Area.
Police Investigation Outcome
After thorough investigation, police submitted their final challan in which
Muneeb Butt was given a clean chit
No evidence was found linking the actor to the crime. The investigating team concluded that the allegation of him arranging accommodation for the accused did not hold up under scrutiny.
Court Proceedings Today
During the hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court, Muneeb Butt’s lawyer strongly argued that since the police had already cleared his client in the challan, there was no justification for keeping the bail active. The court was requested to formally allow the withdrawal of bail. One police official, Ghaleb, remains absconding, while other accused — Shahid Sattar, Muhammad Saleem, Alim, and Wazir Muhammad — face charges.
Impact on Muneeb Butt’s Career
This swift exoneration comes as a major relief for the talented actor, who enjoys a massive fan following across Pakistan. Known for his powerful performances in hit dramas, Muneeb Butt had maintained his dignity throughout the legal ordeal. The positive resolution is expected to boost his upcoming projects and restore complete public confidence.
Why This Matter
Such cases often generate massive media buzz and social media trials.
– Quick Justice
Police investigation and court proceedings moved relatively fast, highlighting the importance of solid evidence over mere allegations.
– Message of Innocence
– It reinforces that being named in a case does not equal guilt — thorough probe is essential.
Social Media Reaction
Fans are celebrating the news with trending hashtags like #MuneebButtInnocent and #JusticeForMuneeb. Many called it “much-needed good news” for the Pakistani entertainment industry.
