A woman in Peshawar allegedly killed her own 13-year-old daughter by hanging her, according to media reports.
Police said the incident took place in the Town area of Peshawar, where a mother allegedly put a noose around her 13-year-old daughter’s neck and killed her.
SP Cantt said that no person had been arrested in connection with the girl’s killing at the time. He said the mother came to Town Police Station herself and confessed to killing her daughter, following which she was arrested.
According to the FIR, the woman stated in her statement that she hanged her daughter with the girl’s consent.
The police said an investigation into the incident is underway. According to SP Cantt, raids are being conducted against the girl’s father and other relatives in connection with the case.
The police have not confirmed the arrest of any other person so far.
The incident has been reported as a case involving the death of a 13-year-old girl in Peshawar’s Town area. The mother remains under arrest following her alleged confession at the police station.
Police said further action is being taken in accordance with the investigation and the FIR registered in the case.
