Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal’s wedding date has officially been confirmed by her sister, lawyer Rimsha Iqbal, following days of speculation on social media.
According to Rimsha Iqbal, the actress will tie the knot with Muhammad Hamza Habibi on June 1. She clarified that the marriage has been arranged with the consent of both families and that the groom is not related to their family.
The wedding announcement comes at a tense time for the actress, who recently claimed that she and her family had received death threats from an influential political figure. Momina Iqbal had shared details of the alleged harassment through an Instagram story, prompting authorities to take immediate notice.
Following her complaint, the NCCIA summoned a Punjab MPA for questioning. Reports stated that the PML-N lawmaker appeared before the agency along with legal representatives.
Speaking to the media, Rimsha Iqbal said the family received positive support during the investigation and thanked the media and authorities for their assistance. She added that security had been provided not only to Momina Iqbal and her family, but also to her future in-laws after they allegedly received threats as well.
Rimsha, who is handling the legal proceedings herself, said she completed her law degree abroad and also has legal experience in Pakistan.
