Prominent Pakistani designer Maria B continues to make headlines due to her controversial stance on the transgender community (LGBT).
Taking to social media, the designer expressed her dismay with the younger generation, stating, “It saddens me to see the hate and misconceptions our younger generation has about Islam.”
She went on to add, “All the comments I see are from people who know nothing about the true essence of Islam and have never properly studied the Quran.”
Maria B emphasized that LGBTQ issues should not be treated lightly. She pointed out that the Federal Shariat Court had spent two years deliberating on the Transgender Act before determining which aspects were considered un-Islamic.

In a cautionary tweet, she mentioned that foreign funding aimed at confusing Pakistani children was a matter of concern, and she vowed that Pakistanis would contest this influence in court.
As the owner of the country’s largest fashion design house, Maria B has consistently voiced her criticism against practices perceived as contrary to Pakistani socio-cultural norms. She has also been an outspoken critic of the transgender community in Pakistan.
