Three children, including a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, reportedly disappeared from different Lahore neighborhoods within 24 hours, prompting police investigations and renewed concerns over child safety.
WEBDESK – MADIHA BHATTI – MEDIABITES NEWS
A wave of concern has gripped Lahore after three children, including a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, were reportedly abducted from different parts of the city within a 24-hour period. The separate incidents have prompted police to launch multiple investigations while raising fresh questions about child safety in Pakistan’s second-largest city.
Authorities say each case is being treated independently, as investigators have not yet found evidence suggesting the incidents are connected. Search operations are underway, and police are urging the public to share any information that may help trace the missing children.
Police Launch Separate Investigations
According to police officials, the three reported abductions occurred in different neighborhoods of Lahore within a short span of time.
Law enforcement agencies have registered separate cases and assigned investigation teams to each incident. Officers say they are examining all available evidence before determining whether there is any connection between the disappearances.
Investigators have emphasized that speculation should be avoided until the inquiries are complete.
Toddler Disappears While Playing Near Home
One of the most concerning cases involves a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who reportedly went missing while playing near her family’s residence.
According to her relatives, the child was outside the house when she suddenly disappeared. Family members immediately began searching the surrounding area before informing the police.
An FIR was registered shortly afterward, and authorities launched a search operation in nearby streets and neighborhoods.
Two More Families Report Missing Children
In separate incidents, two other families also approached police after their children reportedly went missing under different circumstances.
Officials have not released extensive details about the identities of the children due to the ongoing investigation and privacy considerations.
Police say each family’s statements have been recorded, and investigators are carefully reconstructing the timeline leading up to the disappearances.
CCTV Footage Being Reviewed
Investigation teams have started collecting surveillance footage from nearby homes, businesses and public places.
Police believe CCTV recordings may provide important clues about the children’s movements before they disappeared.
Authorities are also speaking with shopkeepers, neighbors, passersby and anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the locations where the children were last seen.
Search Operations Expanded Across the City
Police have expanded search efforts by alerting stations across Lahore and neighboring districts.
Checkpoints have been informed about the missing children, while patrol units are monitoring transport routes and public spaces.
Officials say every available resource is being used to locate the children as quickly as possible.
Public Asked to Assist Authorities
Law enforcement officials have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the investigation.
Anyone who may have seen the children or noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles near the reported locations is being encouraged to immediately contact the nearest police station or emergency helpline.
Police believe timely public information could play a crucial role in locating the missing children safely.
Parents Express Growing Fear
News of the three reported abductions has created anxiety among parents throughout Lahore.
Many families say they are becoming increasingly cautious about allowing young children to play outside without supervision.
The incidents have also triggered widespread discussion on social media, where residents are urging authorities to strengthen public safety measures.
Child Rights Groups Call for Stronger Protection
Child welfare organizations and rights advocates have expressed concern following the reported disappearances.
They are calling for improved surveillance in residential areas, faster emergency response systems and stronger coordination between police departments when handling missing child cases.
Experts also emphasize the importance of educating parents and children about personal safety and emergency reporting procedures.
Police Urge Public to Avoid Rumors
Authorities have requested that the public avoid spreading unverified information on social media.
Officials warn that false reports and rumors can create unnecessary panic and complicate ongoing investigations.
Police say only verified updates released through official channels should be considered reliable while search efforts continue.
Investigation Continues as Families Await Good News
No arrests have been announced so far, and investigators have not confirmed whether the three incidents are linked.
Police maintain that all possible angles are being examined and that every lead will be thoroughly investigated.
As search operations continue across Lahore, the affected families remain hopeful for the safe return of their children, while authorities say the investigations will continue until every child is located and the circumstances surrounding the disappearances are fully established.
