Big update for Lahoris! The district administration has announced new business hours following the Lahore High Court’s order to help control smog across the city.
According to Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza, all assistant commissioners have been directed to enforce the 2023 notification regarding closing times. Under the new schedule, markets will close at 10 PM from Monday to Saturday, while restaurants and cafés must shut down by 11 PM.
On Sundays, markets will be allowed to open from 2 PM to 10 PM, and home delivery services can operate until 2 AM.
However, essential services such as medical stores, bakeries, tandoors, milk shops, hospitals, laboratories, petrol pumps, and puncture shops will remain exempt from these restrictions.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza warned that strict action will be taken against any violations. Shops, hotels, or restaurants found disobeying the new schedule may be sealed and face heavy fines.
