A major fire broke out at a K-Electric grid station in Karachi’s Baloch Colony, disrupting electricity supply to Mahmoodabad, PECHS Society and surrounding areas.
According to fire brigade officials, the blaze was classified as a third-degree fire. Eight fire tenders and two water bowsers were dispatched to the site to control the flames.
Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control. Cooling operations are currently underway at the grid station.
Officials said no casualties were reported in the incident. However, damage to the grid station resulted in power outages across several nearby areas, causing difficulties for residents.
The fire brigade had also requested water supply from nearby hydrants during the firefighting operation. Officials said the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be investigated later.
