The federal government has equipped law enforcement agencies with advanced equipment to deal with protesters if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers head towards the federal capital.
A senior official familiar with the matter said, “We have learned lessons from the previous two confrontations, and they have further strengthened our confidence. This time, around 38,000 personnel have been deployed, compared with fewer than 20,000 personnel during PTI’s previous march.”
The official referred to the events of November 26, 2024, when PTI advanced towards the federal capital as part of its “Final Call” march demanding the release of Imran Khan. He also mentioned the confrontation with Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in Muridke on October 12, 2025.
He said that this time, the number of law enforcement personnel is higher than in November 2024, and they have been given greater autonomy to take action compared with previous operations. Most importantly, he added, they have been equipped with the latest equipment.
