A devastating accident occurred on Karachi’s Karsaz Road on Monday, claiming the lives of three innocent people and leaving several others injured.
Natasha Danish, the wife of prominent businessman Danish Iqbal, was behind the wheel of the speeding Toyota Land Cruiser that lost control and rammed into bikers and pedestrians.
Eyewitnesses alleged that Natasha was intoxicated and attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended by citizens and handed over to the police.
The victims included 62-year-old Imran Arif and his 23-year-old daughter Amina, who died on the spot, as well as a third person who succumbed to injuries later in the hospital.
Five others, including 55-year-old Abdul Salam, sustained injuries in the accident. Natasha also suffered a head injury and is reportedly in a state of mental distress.
According to witnesses at the scene, Natasha seemed to be inebriated at the time of the collision. They stated she tried to run but was grabbed by onlookers and handed over to police.
The police have opened an investigation at the Bahadurabad Police Station under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including reckless driving and inflicting hurt.
The key suspect in the case, according to Muhammad Naeem, the SHO of Bahadurabad Police Station, is Natasha Danish, the wife of Danish Iqbal, Chairman of Gul Ahmed Energy Limited and Metro Power Group. Legal action is being taken, and Natasha is said to be in emotional anguish as a result of the event, according to police.
