According to Indian media, the BCCI has declined to send its team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.The Indian Express website reported, citing sources, that the BCCI has informed the ICC in writing of its decision, stating that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan, and this decision is final.
Furthermore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India sources revealed that India has requested that its matches be held in Dubai instead. Indian media reports indicate that the cricket board has conveyed its security and political concerns to officials, expressing a preference for playing matches at neutral venues, with Dubai being identified as the most suitable location.
As we know that previous reports suggested that the Indian cricket board had agreed to send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Apart from India, 6 other teams have confirmed their participation in Pakistan. However, India, citing political and security reasons, is refusing to send its team and is pushing for a hybrid model for the tournament.
As the Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with matches planned in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
