The Indian cricket team has expressed dissatisfaction with their hotel accommodations in Dambulla, Sri Lanka During the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

This issue has arisen amidst the backdrop of heavy rains, which have disrupted the tournament’s schedule.

The Indian team and its management have raised concerns, stating that the hotels available in Dambulla do not meet their accustomed standards in Asia Cup. This complaint follows similar grievances voiced by Star Sports, the tournament’s broadcaster, regarding their hotel arrangements in Hambantota.

These concerns have not only put pressure on the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) but have also added to the challenges faced by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Initially, the prestigious Premadasa International Cricket Stadium was selected to host the second leg of the tournament. However, heavy rainfall has left the stadium submerged.

In light of this situation, discussions regarding alternative venues within Colombo have gained momentum, as the city boasts two other potential stadiums capable of hosting the matches.

Media reports suggest that an emergency meeting has been convened by the ACC to address these issues comprehensively. During the meeting, all available solutions will be carefully considered.

The ACC has emphasized that their primary goal is to ensure a smooth and successful continuation of the Asia Cup. In a statement, the ACC stated, “Our priority is to address the concerns and explore all possible options to ensure the Asia Cup proceeds without any disruptions.”

In a crucial encounter of the Asia Cup, the age-old rivals, India and Pakistan, met in Sri Lanka, reigniting their enduring historic rivalry.

The India-Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup 2023 was remained with no decision dur to the rain. But generated significant excitement, as it marks the first ODI encounter between the arch-rivals since June 16, 2019.

Pakistan, the top-ranked ODI team, is in great form, winning 17 of their last 20 ODIs, including a dominant victory over Nepal in the Asia Cup. India, while dealing with injury concerns, is gradually regaining form and confidence.
