A shocking case of illegal human organ trade was uncovered in a private housing society in Rawalpindi’s Riwat area. Police, during routine patrol, heard cries from a house and entered forcibly when the door wasn’t opened. Inside, they found a man tied to a bed with a drip attached — moments away from forced kidney removal.
The victim, Zahid Hanan, revealed he was offered a fake job, drugged, and taken for medical tests. One suspect, Zafarullah, was arrested on-site and admitted that he and his group sold kidneys to both local and foreign clients.
Six suspects, including surgeons Dr. Manzoor and Dr. Amir, escaped. Police also recovered operation tools and medical supplies from the illegal setup. Investigations are underway regarding the possible death of a foreign national at the hands of this gang.
This is not the first time such activity has been exposed in this housing society. The illegal human organ trade poses a severe threat to public safety and highlights the urgent need for tighter monitoring and regulation of residential areas.
