Iftikhar Ahmed, a prominent middle-order batsman, has strongly denied the statement attributed to him that is currently circulating on social media concerning the match against India.
In response to this fabricated statement, the right-handed batter took to his Twitter account to clarify that he had never made such a juvenile remark about their arch-rivals.
He asserted, “No professional cricketer would make such a statement. Please cease the dissemination of false news and report this individual for spreading hate,” Iftikhar expressed.
I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate.@X @elonmusk please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick. https://t.co/dmgDEfM9jp pic.twitter.com/fExqNRa9Zk

Additionally, the 32-year-old batsman urged Twitter CEO Elon Musk to block the unidentified fake account responsible for spreading misinformation and misusing the verified blue tick.
It’s important to note that an earlier instance involved a fake Twitter account attributing a false statement to the middle-order batter in order to taunt the Indian national cricket team.
The fake account posted, “Whenever we have a match against India, it feels like we are playing with street children.” This tweet managed to amass a substantial following.
I want to take this occasion to acknowledge my mistake and apologize to Iftikhar Ahmed. I didn’t intend to hurt your reputation; my tweet was meant as sarcasm. I will be more careful from now on. I hope you all can forget what happened and move on. Everyone makes mistakes; I’m…

Subsequently, the account issued an apology to the cricketer, explaining that the intention was not to tarnish his reputation but rather to employ sarcasm.
It is pertinent to mention here that Iftikhar Ahmed had displayed an impressive performance during the group stage game against the neighboring country in the T20 World Cup 2022. In this match, he scored a remarkable half-century, tallying 51 runs off 34 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes, contributing to his team’s total of 160 runs in Melbourne.
