Renowned for his portrayal of Fredericks in the legendary television series CID, Dinesh Phadnis, aged 57, bid farewell to the world, as confirmed by his co-actor Dayanand Shetty, famous for his role as Daya in CID. The actor breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital.
Shetty shared the heart-wrenching news, revealing that Dinesh succumbed to multiple organ failure. Complications arose, leading to his removal from the ventilator the previous night. The funeral arrangements for the beloved actor are set to take place in Mumbai.

Initially thought to be a cardiac arrest on Sunday, Shetty later clarified that Dinesh’s condition was, in fact, due to liver damage, not a cardiac arrest.
Dinesh Phadnis had won the hearts of millions with his portrayal of Fredericks in CID, a television series that captivated audiences for two decades from 1998. Beyond his CID fame, he delighted fans with guest appearances on the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and played supporting roles in notable movies such as Super 30 and Sarfarosh.
