In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the nation, three police officers are accused of gang-raping a newly married bride in front of her husband at gunpoint.
The distressing event took place in a region of Samundri tehsil, located approximately 52 kilometers from the Faisalabad district, on Friday reported by local media channel.
The incident came to light through a report by a private TV channel, leaving the nation in disbelief. The fact that those entrusted with safeguarding the public could engage in such criminal behavior has raised serious concerns and sparked widespread outrage.
As per sources from the TV channel, the police officers, who were on duty with the Eagle Squad, intercepted a woman and her husband during the early hours of Thursday. The alleged culprits, identified as Constables Asim, Soheb, and Shujaat Hussain, reportedly subjected the woman to a harrowing gang-rape ordeal at gunpoint.
Tragically, the victim, newly married bride, has been admitted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in critical condition, following the brutal assault.
In response to the heinous incident, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the City has taken swift action, suspending the three constables involved and confining them to a detention cell.
However, despite the gravity of the situation, more than 16 hours have passed since the incident occurred, and the police have yet to formally register a case against the accused officers.
