The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has announced new regulations for Grade 8 examination centers in Punjab ahead of the 2026 examinations. The authority has instructed all District Education Authorities to finalize clusters, examination centers, and school mappings to ensure smooth and transparent exam arrangements.
According to an official notification issued on January 7, 2026, district chief executive officers must complete the attachment of schools with their assigned Grade 8 examination centers in Punjab at the district level within the given timeline.
Based on previous examination experiences, PECTAA has emphasized early planning and digital coordination. To improve efficiency, the authority has introduced an online system to manage and confirm Grade 8 examination centers in Punjab.
District authorities are required to use the portal to finalize clusters and exam centers. Login credentials will be shared via email and WhatsApp, ensuring faster coordination, transparency, and reduced administrative delays.
Education officials believe this system will help avoid last-minute confusion and improve exam management across Punjab.
PECTAA has also issued strict guidelines for Grade 8 exams. Separate Grade 8 examination centers in Punjab must be designated for male and female students. Additionally, the distance between a school and its assigned exam center must not exceed eight kilometers, prioritizing student safety and convenience.
Education experts say these reforms will reduce travel stress and create a fair examination environment.
The MediaBites Team congratulates PECTAA for strengthening Grade 8 examination centers in Punjab through digital planning and student-focused policies.

Music was a bit too new-agey for my taste, but the technique was superb. A sonically strange, but skillful ending.
