The interim government in Punjab is making strides toward combatting hazardous smog levels by introducing electric bikes. Ibrahim Hasan Murad, the provincial Transport and Livestock Minister, disclosed this initiative.
Under this plan, the government intends to lease electric bikes to its employees, aiming to diminish reliance on expensive fuel and uphold city environments.

Highlighting the significance of an electric vehicle policy, Murad stressed that incentivizing the production of electric vehicles could position Pakistan favorably in the global EV market. He underscored e-bikes as a budget-friendly and environmentally conscious substitute for conventional transportation. Moreover, local authorities have already taken steps against vehicles emitting harmful emissions.
