The high-profile investigation has sparked fresh concerns over alleged corruption and irregularities in Pakistan’s petroleum sector, with multiple senior company officials, including the CEO of GO Petroleum, named in the FIR.
According to sources, the Federal Investigation Agency has accused the company of illegally selling bonded petroleum products in violation of existing rules and regulations. Authorities have also alleged tampering of official records and the use of fake documents during the alleged transactions.
Investigators believe the case may involve a wider network of individuals from both the government and private sectors, raising the possibility of further arrests and inquiries in the coming days.
Sources further claimed that attempts are allegedly being made to shield some senior officials connected to the case, although no official confirmation has yet been issued regarding those claims.
The FIA has formally initiated investigations and is reportedly examining financial records, import documentation and related petroleum transactions to determine the scale of the alleged fraud.
The development comes amid increasing scrutiny of Pakistan’s petroleum and tax sectors, where authorities have intensified efforts against alleged smuggling, tax evasion and financial irregularities.
Neither GO Petroleum nor the FIA has issued a detailed public statement regarding the latest allegations so far.
