On Friday, it was revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set up Asia’s biggest visa center in the southern metropolis of Pakistan.
The center has 11 counters to offer exceptional consular services that align with international best practices. It will issue 200 UAE visas daily to citizens and aims to save time. There are no visa restrictions in any district, according to UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remethi.
The opening of the center has brought relief to the citizens who expressed their gratitude towards the initiative. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the visa center on the invitation of the UAE Consul General and praised the UAE government for providing convenience to the people of Sindh.
The UAE hosts the second-largest Pakistani expat community globally, and the State Bank of Pakistan’s data shows that the UAE’s remittances to Pakistan in fiscal year 2022 amounted to $2555.22 million. The government of UAE has previously assisted Pakistan in overcoming economic difficulties.
